Cary Elwes Is Writing A “Princess Bride” Memoir

Hot on the heels of news that there will be a Princess Bride stage production, Cary Elwes has announced that he is writing a memoir about his time working on the film. He was inspired to set pen to paper after a recent reunion with the cast to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary.

“It was a joy to work on such a magical film with an amazing cast of talented actors and friends,” Elwes said in a statement. “It will be great fun to revisit The Princess Bride and to share my fond memories of the unforgettable experience we all had.”

In addition to Elwes’ recollections, the book will also include interviews with Robin Wright, Billy Crystal, Carol Kane, Christopher Guest, Chris Sarandon and writer William Goldman. There will also be a forward written by director Rob Reiner.

As You Wish: Tales From The Princess Bride will be co-written by Joe Layden and is due to be released by Simon & Schuster’s Touchstone imprint in the Fall of 2014.
