Studio Ghibli sure like their airships, don’t they? The vessels have appeared in a number of features from the animation house, but there are arguably none more memorable than the airship from Castle in the Sky.
And you can see this glorious illuminated replica at the Studio Ghibli Expo (along with that adult-sized Catbus).
The exhibition is currently on display in Tokyo and features artwork, interactive exhibits and models of aircraft from a number of Studio Ghibli features. But it’s the Castle in the Sky ship that holds dominion, hanging in the center of the room all lit up like Christmas, rising and falling with grace and style.
