To say Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wasn’t great is an understatement. A giant one. Though Harrison Ford still rocked as Indiana Jones, the spark wasn’t there. I don’t know if it was the presence of Shia LaBeouf or the lackluster script or a combination of all of the above. Regardless, Ford says it’s okay if the character were to come back. While he was doing press for Paranoia, he had the following to say about the adventurous archaelogist:
“We’ve seen the character develop and grow over a period of time and it’s perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn’t necessarily have to kick as much ass. To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed, that he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened and that he still managed to survive. That I can do.”
Huh. Even if Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wasn’t the most popular with fans, it did bring in a pile of cash at the box office. Since studios like money, it wouldn’t be the worst ever decision to move forward with a fifth installment of the Indiana Jones story. They’d just better hurry up before Ford changes his mind.
Would you want to see another Indiana Jones movie featuring the character as Ford described?
