Harry Potter’s Argus Filch Is Going To Be a New Doctor… Sort Of

BBC America and BBC Cymru Wales have announced that they are co-producing a TV movie about the creation of Doctor Who which will feature actor David Bradley in the role of William Hartnell who played the First Doctor. The movie, titled An Adventure In Space And Time, will be written by Doctor Who/Sherlock writer Mark Gatiss, directed by Terry McDonough, and is due out later this year. Bradley seems pretty excited about the role, saying…

“I’m absolutely thrilled. I first heard about this role from Mark [Gatiss] while watching the Diamond Jubilee flotilla from the roof of the National Theatre. When he asked if I would be interested, I almost bit his hand off!”

In addition to Bradley, who appeared in the Doctor Who episode Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, the movie will star Jessica Raine as Verity Lambert, Brian Cox as BBC head of drama Sydney Newman and Sacha Dhawan as Waris Hussein who directed the very fist Doctor Who episode called The Unearthly Child.
