In the latest on the story that will never die, Michael Bay released another statement regarding his upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Sorry, I mean Ninja Turtles. Just the other day, it was reported that the name would be abbreviated to Ninja Turtles. Given the fact that Bay wasn’t afraid to throw the mutant origin right out the window, fans were understandably worried that the title meant they won’t be teenaged either. Again, his statement isn’t exactly reassuring.
Read the statement after the break.
“Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple. The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care VERY MUCH about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. HE’S NOT GOING TO LET YOU DOWN.
They still act like teenagers? But does that mean they are teenagers? How can he not realize that fans will pick apart ambiguous statements like that? I don’t know about you guys, but the longer this continues, the less likely I am to be open-minded.
