George Lucas Should Have Followed This ‘Star Wars’ Style Guide From 1994

From 1987 until 1999, West End Games’ Star Wars tabletop RPG was about as close as you could get to being in an actual Star War without taking a trip to Disneyland. The range was popular enough that West End regularly put out supplements and expansions – 115 to be exact.

Pablo Hidalgo, part of Lucasfilm’s Story Team, recently shared some snaps of his copy of the 1994 writer’s guide that West End released for authors looking to pen content for the Star Wars RPG. Of note, the scans include this gem on the subject of diversity:

Some of the content is just good writing advice. Some of it is great Star Wars advice. And, if you’re feeling a little salty, some of it is perhaps advice George Lucas should’ve followed before he started writing The Phantom Menace. Even The Force Awakens could have learned a thing or two:
