We’ve seen Tron light cycle replicas before, but one of the best versions is currently up for sale.
This replica based on Tron:Legacy was built for the Andrew’s Collection, and it’s totally functional (I’m squeeeing with super fangirl excitement).
So maybe the movie reboot wasn’t your favorite, but the glowing motorbikes have always been the most impressive part of the Tron virtual world. After the build, it was only driven around the facilities to ensure that it was in working order. So, it’s being sold in as-new condition for $25,000 to $40,000 without reserve in May (so there’s a small chance you can snag it at a bargain price). According to the Sotheby’s listing the bike features include:
“96 volt, direct-drive electric motor with lithium batteries and a computer-controlled throttle, rebound and compression damping with spring-preload front suspension and rigid rear suspension, and front and rear hydraulic brakes.”
This amazing piece functional art is completely drool worthy and definitely one of a kind. And it totally glows in the dark!
