‘Assassin’s Creed’ Is Getting An Anime Adaptation

The animated Castlevania series is set to debut on Netflix this week, but producer Adi Shankar has already revealed plans for his next project—an Assassin’s Creed anime series.

Shankar writes:

I’m happy to let you guys know that I’ve selected my next project! I played the first edition of Assassin’s Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream. At that moment I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin’s Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series. If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life they are wrong.

Color me intrigued. I can see Assassin’s Creed working in this medium (certainly more so than the live-action film), though I will feel better about it if Castlevania ends up being a good show. Shankar has been pretty good about keeping fans up to date with his projects, so I assume we’ll know more about the Assassin’s Creed series soon. Hopefully, Netflix will be picking up that series as well.
