Gillian Anderson might not be playing Agent Scully on The X-Files these days, but she’s still keeping her foot planted in the world of the unbelievable with a new series of books. Anderson told Entertainment Weekly that she’s penning a series called EarthEnd Saga along with co-writer Jeff Rovin. The first book, A Vision of Fire, is coming out under Simon & Schuster’s speculative fiction imprint, Simon451, in October.
The main character, Caitlin O’Hara, is a child psychologist who travels the world treating children who have been traumatized by natural disasters, but it takes a turn of for the weird when she meets one particularly troubled child. According to Anderson:
“Over the course of spending time and helping her and investigating the origins of the girl’s trauma, Caitlin begins to realize that the girl’s behavior is tied to much greater forces in the universe, and as the story unfolds, she must prevent destruction on a grand scale.”
Sound like the case would be a perfect fit for Scully and Mulder.
