NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captures images of the sun, and on October 8th, the sun decided to show some Halloween spirit. It looks like the greatest pumpkin of them all! NASA’s Joe Witte said:
“Active regions on the sun combined to look something like a solar jack-o’-lantern’s face… The active regions in this image appear brighter because those are areas that emit more light and energy.”
Even the sun likes to get dressed up for Halloween. That means you have no excuse.
