TNT knows drama, but do they know horror? Well, Deadline is reporting that the network is attempting to answer that question a new weekly two hour “horror block” created by M Night Shyamalan. Sitting center stage in that two-hour block is a Tales from the Crypt reboot.
“This is a new genre for us in our series efforts and a great chance to partner with M Night Shyamalan, whose blockbuster hit ‘The Visit’ reminded movie audiences and critics this past summer that he truly is a master of horror,” TNT evp of original programming Sarah Aubrey said in a statement.
The new version will follow its HBO predecessor as far as being inspired by the EC Comics by William Gaines, but will also include newly developed content.
No word on if the Cryptkeeper will be making a return. He really should.
