Vertigo’s Lucifer Gets A Pilot Order From Fox

You may have heard rumblings back in September of development on a new TV adaptation of Vertigo’s Lucifer created by Neil Gaiman, Mike Dringenberg, & Sam Kieth. That news was recently updated and a pilot deal has been made.

Californication creator and exec producer Tom Kapinos will be teaming up with Warner Brothers TV’s Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Sleepy Hollow co-creator Len Wiseman.

As far as the story goes, word is that the pilot finds Lucifer bored with being the King Of Hell, so he chucks it all to head to L.A. and help the cops punish criminals.

Yeah, its a police procedural. Ugh.

On the plus side, it’s Gaiman and Wiseman. But Fox isn’t the best when it comes to letting new series find their stride assuming it gets picked up.
