If you are having power problems with those puny little 1000 watt power supplies that are currently available, the Ultra X3 modular power supply that puts out 2000 watts should take care of you. With that much power you can run a dual SLI display setup, multiple HDD’s and optical drives, water cooling and probably still have enough left to run your beer fridge.
Besides being powerful, the modularity allows you to have the exact connectors you need as well as making for a much neater installation by not having a bunch of unused connectors tucked into your case.
Ultra is expected to show this power supply at CES next week. No word on pricing yet, but I would hope that it is in the $700 range. That may be a dream, but at some point even the most demanding user is going to blanch at the thought of a power supply costing more than a PS3.
