Virtual Keyboard

The idea has been around for a while, and at least one product, the Virtual Keyboard for PC, is on the market. The idea is to use a device to project a keyboard onto a flat surface, and when a user presses a key, a signal is generated that corresponds to the key pressed. No more stuck keys or gathering dust and dirt. Most importantly, spilling your beer won’t ruin anything, just a paper towel required for clean up. Taking it one step further, NEC showed the idea of a virtual keyboard along with a miniature projector for a display back in 2003 at the ITU Telecom World exhibition. They envisioned using bluetooth for wireless connectivity. The pictures show you more than any words could describe.
