The LEGO Batman Movie is out in theaters, and DK Publishing has put together a very fun book called The LEGO Batman Movie: The Making of the Movie. Let’s take a peek inside shall we?
Journey beyond the on-screen world of The LEGO Batman Movie and get an inside look at how the animated movie was created with The LEGO Batman Movie: The Making of the Movie. Packed with stunning concept art, sketches, artwork, inspiration, and LEGO builds, the book tells the fascinating story of how The LEGO Batman Movie was made.
DK was kind enough to send me a review copy and I’m really pleased. Writer Tracy Miller-Zarneke has broken the book down into locations, characters, and vehicles with details on everything from Arkham Asylum, to the many faces of Batman (the expression drawings are perfection), to the Ultimate Batmobile. Personally, I’m a fan of the Scuttler. If you haven’t seen the movie, I have a feeling you’ll dig that one.
Of course, The LEGO Batman Movie: The Making of the Movie is filled with gorgeous pictures. DK puts together some of the best photo reference books around. There’s a black and white piece of concept art for Wayne Manor that would be a fantastic art print.
Overall, I give it my stamp of approval. Visually engaging and filled with details, it’s a book that will please young and old Batman fans alike. You can grab it now on Amazon for $13.20.
