The latest beta release for the upcoming Firefox 2.0 browser is ready for download via mozilla.org.
Here’s what’s new:
- New look and feel
- Improved tabbed browsing
- Improved session restore feature
- New Windows installer
- Built in phishing protection
- Enhanced search capabilities
- Inline spell checking
- Live titles
- Improved add-ons manager
For more info on improvements, view the Firefox Beta 2 release notes.
So far, the beta 2 release seems fairly impressive. I like the new look, the browsing experience is smooth, and there hasn’t been any crashes (a major problem with the beta 1 candidate.)
The finished version of Firefox 2.0 is scheduled for release on October 24th.
