Arrow star Stephen Amell’s long-awaited appearance on American Ninja Warrior finally happened over the weekend as part of a special celebrity edition of the show for Red Nose Day. Each obstacle Amell completed was worth $5,000 for charity, and when all was said and done he earned $35,000 towards NBC’s $35 million+ tally for children in need. Watch the spectacular run below (and yes, the salmon ladder was conquered). [click to continue…]

After years of teases, persistent fans have finally convinced Stephen Amell to take on the American Ninja Warrior course. Back in September, Amell confirmed that he wanted to be on the show in 2017, and now he’s making good on that promise. In a recent Facebook post, Amell reposted his Salt Lake City Comic-Con appearance along with a confirmation that he will be doing American Ninja Warrior on May 25th with his “Master Yoda Coach” Kacy Catanzaro. Arrow fans have been telling Stephen Amell that he should compete on American Ninja Warrior for years. Back in 2014, the show even reached out to his manager in hopes of making it happen. Amell turned that opportunity down citing a lack of time in his schedule, but it seems that Salt Lake City Comic-Con finally “pushed him over the edge”.

Over the weekend Amell wrote the following on Facebook:

Ok… It happened. The people of Salt Lake City and the great State of Utah pushed me over the edge. NBC American Ninja Warrior – in 2017, I would like to compete on your show.

I’m sure that Supergirl stuntwoman Jessie Graff’s dominance on the show has also proven to be an inspiration. A little superhero competition is hard to resist.

DC Collectibles has new figures coming for DCTV’s Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow, all of which look cool. Personally, I’m most excited for the new Constantine and Vixen, but Supergirl, Martian Manhunter, Zoom, The Atom, Firestorm, and Hawkgirl are all killer additions to the line.

These are DC Legends figures, so they all stand roughly 6 3/4″ and come with lots of articulation and accessories. Check out the rest of the lineup below. [click to continue…]

It’s no secret that I’ve been following the ongoing feud between Arrow’s Stephen Amell and WWE wrestler Stardust with unabashed glee. I was soooooo excited for Amell’s guest appearance at WWE Raw this past Monday.

So, how did it go?

Well, let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed. Not only did we get a little contact (beatdown) between Amell and Stardust, but Amell got WWE’s Triple H to agree to put him in a match at WWE SummerSlam on August 23.

It’s been a while since I’ve paid for a PPV event, but watching Stephen Amell and Neville take on King Barrett and Stardust may be too much awesome for me to miss.

Head after the break to see video of Amell’s first jump into the ring and his conversation with Triple H after the break.

While a lot of people have been dying to see Stephen Amell take on the course for ‘American Ninja Warrior’, there’s a whole different group that’s been waiting with baited breath to see if the feud between Amell and WWE wrestler Stardust (aka Cody Rhodes) was going to result in a match on next week’s Monday Night Raw.

This back and forth has been going on for a while, with Stardust trash talking Amell and Amell trash talking back. It looked like the taunts were just talk and nothing would come of it until Stardust spoke a certain phrase on the July 30th episode of SmackDown…

fight club

Between The Flash and Arrow, and the new spinoff in the works, there are plenty of good guys and bad guys to go around on the CW.

This surprising and insane new promo video imagines a world in which the heroes and villains meet up for a little superhero style fight club action and the results are three minutes of awesome.

Check it out after break.

Here’s a cool new collectible for you Arrow fans. The Arrow bookend stands approximately 9-inches tall and is made of high quality polystone, which makes him as much of a statue as a book end and, let’s be honest, is probably the closest most of us will ever come to having Amell in our homes.

See more pictures after the break.

scully and mulder

At New York Toy Fair 2015, which kicked off on Saturday and is running through Tuesday, there is A) a lot of Frozen, B) A LOT OF FROZEN, C) a Tribble coin purse from The Coop (bless), and D) all the Funko you can shake an adorable plastic figurine at. If you weren’t there either because you weren’t in New York or you were in New York but made the completely reasonable decision to stay indoors where it wasn’t frakking freezing, you can live the experience vicariously through me. There’s no visual aid for my reaction to the upcoming X-Files figures, above, but it was something like this. Behind the cut: Avengers: Age of Ultron, Jaws, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Arrow, Firefly, The Fifth Element, Star Trek, and more!
