It’s hard to beat a fast car with a rich guy behind the wheel, and when the guy is Batman and the car is the Batmobile it’s sure to make all the girls swoon. Probably more than a few of the guys, too. If you were lucky enough to be hanging out at Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank, California last weekend, then you got a look at the Batmobiles in all their glory. Warner Brothers broke out the cars from Adam West through Christian Bale to film a segment for The Dark Knight Rises video release. This makes me think I should be spending more time hanging out at burger joints.

Check out the Batmobiles in action after the jump.

Batman is coming back to Cartoon Network as part of the DC Nation cartoon block in a brand new animated series titled Beware the Batman. Though they announced it a while ago, this is the first teaser image from the all CG series. I love the stylized design and can’t wait to see more of the overall look of the show. I’m also looking forward to seeing villains that are outside of the normal rogue’s gallery; the press release teases what’s to come:

A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogues gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what we have come to know as a “Batman show.” Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals to match the intricate twists and turns of the narrative, Batman steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight for an entirely new generation of fans. With WBA’s Sam Register executive producing, and Batman Beyond’s Glen Murakami and Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated’s Mitch Watson producing, Beware the Batman, based on characters from DC Comics, is coming soon to Cartoon Network!

After seeing Malmey Studios’ Darth Vader/Batman armor last year, John Harmon of Mint Condition Customs decided to create an action figure version of the concept:

Given that the Batmobiles in question are working replicas, I’ll have to say that the following drag race between a 1960s Batmobile and a 1989 Batmobile isn’t exactly definitive. However, it is a lot of fun to watch (the race itself starts at 7:45).

Check it out after the break.

The trailer for Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has finally been released. The game is scheduled to ship on June 1st, and from this peek it seems as if the gameplay will be similar to other Lego video games. At the least other DC characters like Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman will be joining Batman and Robin in the fight.

Batman and Robin was a pile of lemon-shaped turds, but Jon Kaplan and Al Kaplan (of Conan the Barbarian: The Musical and Off-Broadway’s Silence! The Musical fame) somehow managed to make delicious lemonade out of it.

Bask in its glory after the break (slightly NSFW language).

We’ve already established that the Bat Phone can handle social media just as well as Superman’s iPhone 4S, but the question is does it have an assistant as good as Siri?

Find out after the break.
