Boba Fett

Boba In Borderlands

boba_blog_by_stain_art-d6y9xhx

For May the Fourth, @Borderlands tweeted this great mash-up featuring Boba Fett with an R2-D2 Claptrap.

It’s the work of stain-art, who created it for his friend who loves both Star Wars and Borderlands. I’d say he nailed it.

And just imagine if Artoo’s beeps and boops were translated to Claptrap’s vernacular. Oh man, I would love to see conversations between him and C-3PO!

Remember when we talked about that awesome Star Wars Play Arts Kai Variant Darth Vader? Well, now you can add Boba Fett and a Stormtrooper to that list.

And man, they’re gorgeous.

Between the detail, the style and the accessories, these two figures look like something out of an awesome Star Wars anime.

sarlacc diorama

While official Star Wars canon has Boba Fett falling into the Sarlacc Pit never to return, there are stories in the non-canon Expanded Universe that have Boba Fett crawling out and escaping. However, LEGO builder Daniel Stoeffler has rescued Fett in a more creative way.

This amazing build was for a Star Wars contest over at Techlug that challenged entrants to create the story of Boba Fett’s escape in LEGO. Stoeffler not only came up with a fantastic build, but he came up with one heck of a story to go with it.

In his diorama, the Jawas run a distillery out of the Pit of Carkoon. They collect the Sarlacc’s digestive juices and then filter it to create “Jawa Juice” or “Nectar of the Sarlacc”.

Here’s where the theory gets really fun. Stoeffler suggests that Boba Fett fell in and found the opening in the Sarlacc’s stomach that contained the digestive juice collecting tube. When he makes it through into the distillery, he’s severly ill and they nurse him back to health.

During his time in the distillery, he even helps out and, after some time, Boba Fett leaves and the Jawas have a new ally.

You gotta admit, that is way cooler than a dead Boba Fett.

FPBOBAKEIKO-32

Plus it’s super expensive!

The fact that I just had to string all those words into one headline has me wondering if I should have stopped drinking before I sat down at the keyboard today. Nope. Completely sober. This is a real thing that you can buy, if you’re so inclined.

It’s a 12″ tall, hand-painted, resin statue of a scantily clad woman with a Boba Fett helmet with Mickey Mouse ears. Her boots and gloves also have claws so she’s also part werewolf? Hey, to each his own.

hot toys boba fett 1

It seems like Hot Toys only exists for one purpose: to drain our bank accounts. One of their newest collectibles is a quarter scale Episode VI Boba Fett. I admit that I’m not the biggest fan of the character, but I can’t deny that he’s popular with the Star Wars crowd or that this collectible figure is insanely detailed.

Fett is fully decked out in armor, accessories, and weapons. Hot Toys shared the following on their Facebook page:

The highly-accurate quarter-scale collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Boba Fett in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi featuring finely sculpted Boba Fett helmet and armor, his signature jetpack, highly detailed weapons, accessories, and a specially designed sail barge figure stand all with skillfully-applied distressed effects. A special edition will be available for selected markets and include a blaster sidearm with holster which Boba Fett has in Star Wars: Episode V Empire Strikes Back.

There are all kinds of car wraps out there, but this one is easily one of our favorites. It’s a simple black Hyundai Veloster that has been turned into Boba Fett by Rebekah Steig Knuth who came up with the design for her own car. She’s a graphic designer at FastSigns of Appleton and she digitally created the wrap which was then transferred to vinyl. I’m thinking she’s Boba Fett’s number one fan.

See more pictures and a video of the wrap being applied after the break.

lego slave 1

January 1, 2015 can’t get here soon enough. That’s the day we can finally purchase the Lego UCS (Ultimate Collector Series) Slave I. The pics of the Lego take on Boba Fett’s preferred mode of intergalactic transport were enough to get us really excited about it, but Lego has recently released the following video which features Hans Schlömer showing it off. Look how huge it is!

lego slave 1

LEGO has done versions of Boba Fett’s ship before, but none of them have looked quite like this. The new Slave I will be out this fall and features 1,996 pieces. Eurobricks user just2good shared the first images of the box, bricks, and minifigs, and I can’t get over how slick it looks. The ship comes with Boba Fett, Han in Carbonite, a Stormtrooper, and a Bespin guard.

Do you need the best of the best to track down a bounty? Look no further than this Boba Fett statue from Sideshow Collectibles. The life-size figure stands at 6.5 feet tall and is incredibly detailed.

Fett comes with the following: “authentic replica of his Mandalorian armor, featuring an articulated helmet with adjustable rangefinder, intricately detailed fabric costume and utility belt, a light-up chest panel, and braided Wookiee scalp accessories.”

He also has weapons and helpful tools inside his pockets. And yes, he would look good next to their life-sized Han Solo in carbonite statue.

Pre-order now to receive Boba Fett in September. More photos of the bounty hunter after the break.
