While people may be pondering the fate of movies adapted from YA novels, YA novels themselves are still going strong and they’re about to get an influx of DC Comics heroes.

Four new novels have been announced. Best-selling author Leigh Bardugo (Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, and Ruin and Rising) will be penning a new Wonder Woman novel, which will be the first release in August 2017. Marie Lu (Legend and Young Elites trilogy) will follow WW with Batman. After that, Matt de la Peña (The Living, Ball Don’t Lie) will have Superman, and Sarah J. Maas (Throne of Glass) is filling out the first four with Catwoman.

Having read Marvel’s Black Widow: Forever Red by Margaret Stohl (and loved it), I’m hoping DC decides to follow suit and set the books after each of the character’s origin stories.

Seriously, no more origin stories.

This is what happens when you let a Final Fantasy director and character designer loose on a Catwoman figure. Tetsuya Nomura’s Play Arts Kai figure design features crazy armor and will include two whip tails (WHIP TAILS!), a small pistol, and a set of extended hand-claws. Pricing hasn’t been announced but if it falls in line with similar figures, then it’ll likely be around $175.

French department store Printemps is all kinds of fancy. It’s made to attract wealthy clientele, and to help entice shoppers to come inside, they had an art exhibition inside the store called “Pop the Bag.” Each installation featured a handbag, and DeviantArt user Kordian decided to add a pop culture twist by featuring Catwoman swiping Batman’s cowl. The statue is meant to be a modern take on Caravaggio’s “Judith Beheading Holofernes.”

DC Collectibles has announced a gorgeous new line of action figures from Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures. Each figure will be 6″ tall and based on Bruce Timm’s designs. So far, they’ve only unveiled Batman and Catwoman with Mr. Freeze and Two-Face finishing off wave one. Expect to see these in November retailing for $25 each.

It’s no secret that Catwoman likes cats, but this fan art proves she loves them. Yay fellow crazy cat ladies! Artist Caanan paired the villain with all kinds of famous cats from pop culture. Garfield, Nermal, Simon, Tom, the Cheshire Cat, and so many more. If you can’t name them all, there’s a complete list on his DeviantArt page. I don’t have the words to express how much I adore this.
