bioshock lego songbird 1

Songbird isn’t your everyday sort of bird. The 60 foot winged creature is Elizabeth’s guardian in BioShock Infinite and is intertwined in the story. It’s something to be scared of in game, but in Lego form it’s easier to face. Seeing it in bricks doesn’t make it any less impressive though – I’m just not worried about it pecking out my eyes.

Builder Imagine Rigney constructed the custom Songbird in just six days! The Columbia set featured in the picture will be expanded on, and the finished project will be shown off at Brickworld Chicago 2013.

starseeker 1

The Final Fantasy games are overflowing with fascinating characters and awesome weaponry – it’s hard to choose favorites. That said, Serah’s awesome sword-bow called Starseeker has to be near the top of the list of cool death dealing gadgets. It works for melee or ranged combat, and it’s pink and purple! This prop replica of the weapon was crafted by the talented meanlilkitty on DeviantArt; it’s made from wood, plastic jewels, and metal fixtures. I think it looks sexy.

This is not your average model of the USS Enterprise. It is so much more. Oh yeah, it transforms into a freaking autobot! Artist Unicron9 has put Star Trek and Transformers together in the most glorious way possible. The way it moves and turns into the Autobot E is clever – for instance, the disc portion of the ship becomes the shield.

Ro-lightsaber Rahm Kota10

Roland Palotai is a talented craftsman and artist who makes amazing custom lightsabers. He truly makes them elegant weapons, and you can tell he does so with meticulous care. They appear to be machined from various metals such as aluminum and they come with LEDs, switches, leather accents and every touch you can imagine. I can’t get over how gorgeous they are!

It seems like prices for the props start around $500. He doesn’t just have lightsabers either; there’s also a gorgeous 1/58 scale Millennium Falcon. Just saying.

Grumpy Cat in LEGO

It’s official. Tard the Grumpy Cat has taken over the internet. She’s a superstar. However, builder Ochre Jelly didn’t think she officially made it as a meme until she was transformed into Lego bricks, so he made that happen. And hey, if you’ve felt the pain of stepping on a wayward Lego you might feel the same way about them.

Zelda Lego 1

If any game needs to be represented in the Lego line of merchandise, it’s Legend of Zelda. Maybe we’ll get it officially produced one day, but until then persistent designers will keep putting projects up on Cuusoo for voting. Wes Talbott is putting this Iron Knuckle Encounter set to the test.

He wanted to keep the set simple enough so that high production cost wouldn’t make it unappealing. He did include a custom Iron Knuckle, Link, rupees, pots, a treasure chest and a cool background that has breakable pillars to go with it. I could definitely see something like this on the toy store shelf.

If you dig it, go vote for it on Cuusoo!

LEGO Hogwarts 1

When it comes to building Lego structures, Alice Finch doesn’t kid around. She constructed an incredibly huge replica of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry from Harry Potter using 400,000 bricks. Yes, you read that number correctly.

Finch revealed the piece at BrickCon 2012 last October, and she took home the Best in Show and People’s Choice awards. It’s easy to see why. And Finch is ready to share her creation with the world now that she’s had some time to reconstruct the castle in her home.

She spoke with The Brothers Brick about the massive build and said it took her approximately 12 months to put together. She doesn’t want to know how much it cost. What I particularly love about her model is the number of details she added to the interior. You’ve got the kitchen with toiling house elves, the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, the Great Hall, the scene where the centaurs run off with Dolores Umbridge and so much more. It boggles the mind.

Ghostbusters lego 1

Who you gonna call when you need a super detailed Lego replica? Alexander Jones. The talented builder spent two months creating an impressive brick version of the Ghostbusters headquarters. The exterior looks awesome enough, but it’s all the little touches on the interior that put this custom build over the edge. Jones said he spent hours going through the Ghostbusters video game to get it just right. The building includes Venkman’s office, the kitchen, Spengler’s Lab and more!

Diablo 3 Figures 4

There’s only one solution when the toys from the video game you love are a touch too pricey or nonexistent: make your own. Of course, it’s much easier to do so if you’re a talented artist. Samo Kramberger used his skills to create custom Diablo III figures. He sculpted three custom toys from the game: the barbarian, the monk, and the demon hunter.

He used a few different materials for the figures including polymer clay, resin, and Sculpey—and let me just say that he has crazy sculpting skills. The details on the faces, clothing, skin, and props are mind-blowing. I’m also incredibly impressed with the paint job.

There are always going to be minifigs and sets that Lego won’t make because they aren’t kid-friendly. It may not seem fair to the large adult market, but the target demographic is children. Luckily there are companies like Citizen Brick that cater to us.

We are a little company in Chicago that makes short run “Lego compatible toys” and we print directly on Lego pieces, creating a whole “Legoland” that is not so family friendly. We think of it as “daring to go where Lego won’t.”

As an example of that statement, their latest minifig was inspired by Breaking Bad. The Chemistry Enthusiast is pictured above and bears a striking resemblance to Walter White – it’s awesome.

Check out another new figure “Stick Up Enthusiast” after the break.
