Why is it that with all of our advanced mobile technology, we do things like make iPad docks shaped like CRT televisions? I mean, we can all agree that CRTs sucked right?

If Steve Jobs’ personal iPhone 4 had to be confiscated for Warehouse 13 because of its demonic antenna, this is the steampunk dock they would put it in.
The dock charges and takes calls of course, but the whole thing is cast in copper—so this is a serious piece slab of steampunk technology we’re talking about here. And, naturally, it commands a serious price as well.
A Japanese modder took an old Mac, gutted it and turned it into a truly awesome iPad dock. He even chucked a retro-style desktop image for added authenticity (pictured after the break). Amazing how the iPad fits so perfectly in the old chassis.
