You probably didn’t need another reason to attend Comic-Con in San Diego this year, but the fact of the matter is that it’s the only place (outside of eBay most likely) that you’ll be able to get your hands on one of these Jar Jar Binks figures froze in carbonite from Hasbro.
As most hardcore Star Wars fans would guess, this figure is based on the life-size version that resides at Lucasfilm.

Ever since Lego announced they had the Lord of the Rings license, fans and hobbitses have been eagerly awaiting news. What will the first sets be? There are so many options. Well, thanks to the Slovenian Lego forum Kocke Klub, we may finally know. The image was taken in a private area of the Nuremberg Toy Fair, and if it’s valid we’re in for a treat. It looks like we’ve got Sam and Frodo battling Shelob, the fight between the Nazgul and the Fellowship on Weathertop, Helm’s Deep, and something with a cave troll. It’s probably a scene from the mines of Moria. Ahhh! I’m making room on my shelves now.

On the heels of their recently released series of Avengers action figure photos, Hasbro is giving us this preview of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier vehicle, which will be officially unveiled at Toy Fair in New York City on February 11. Click the image above for a larger version – and let the drooling begin.

New superhero movies mean a whole line of new toys, and images of from The Dark Knight Rises lineup hit the internet today ahead of their official debut at the Toy Fair. There’s some new Batman figures, but the Funko Bane and Catwoman toys take the prize. Please note that the drill suit accessory from the one Batman figure is a bit on the ridiculous side.
No word on specific release dates or prices just yet. For now, enjoy the photos after the break.

Nickelodeon is releasing a new CG animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show later this year, and that of course means new toys. Playmates has several options for fans of the fighting reptiles. You can get basic or deluxe figures, classic and new style TMNTs, and there’s a sewer playset option. The only thing I see missing is an April action figure (though I think you can see her in the playset photo).
Check out lots of photos of the new line after the break.

R/C helicopter producer Bladez Toyz has struck a deal with Lucasfilm to bring the Star Wars franchise to its Pump & Play R/C range. The first offering in the series will be this 26″ Jumbo Inflatable R2-D2 which is blown up with a foot pump and operates much like a remote controlled car.
The inflatable R2-D2 is slated for release late this year, and will sell for around $60. Check out a demonstration video after the break.

Pictures of upcoming figures and busts from The Dark Knight Rises DC Direct lineup have made their way out of the UK Toy Fair this week, some of which give us a better look at that Catwoman costume that everyone has made such a fuss about. And by “better look” I mean a pretty close-up look at her butt.
Check out more pics from the 6-inch figure, 12-inch statue and busts lineup after the break courtesy of Idle Hands.

Remember how Lego acquired the license for The Lord of the Rings? Some confidential (and fuzzy) images of the first sets have made their way online. They include some predictable scenes, and they are droolworthy. You can put together bricks and build the mines of Moria, Helm’s Deep, the attack on Weathertop, Shelob, and more. Is anyone else really excited about getting a Lego cave troll?
