The guys at SoundWorks Collection sent us a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of sounds for the upcoming game Halo:Reach. You’ll see some awesome gameplay footage in the video after the break, as well as some interesting details on the technical aspects of putting a project of this scale together.

Remember those Magic Eye books? Well, if you sucked at that, chances are you will suck at watching this Halo:Reach “3D” footage too. I know I sure as hell did—perhaps you’ll fare better.

Halo:Reach drops on September 14th, but a live action trailer drops right now. Speaking of “action”, this video has a lot of it.

Unfortunately, “Deliver Hope” doesn’t deliver any hope that a live-action movie will eventually get made.

Check out the trailer after the break.

From CubicleBot: Ed Fries, former VP of Microsoft’s game publishing division returns to his roots in more ways than one with Halo 2600. In fact, the game was actually released in cartridge form for a very limited run of 500 at the recent Classic Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.

That Halo cartridge will surely be a collectible, but the good news is that you can play all 64 rooms of the game online right now at Code Mystics. Check out a pic of the cartridge after the break.

Well, damn—if you weren’t psyched about the release of what could be the final game in the Halo series in September, you will be after checking out this just released campaign trailer.

In addition to the engaging score, you’ll also see bits of the Covenant invasion of Reach. It’s actually pretty beautiful to watch.

I’ve seen a Halo spike grenade replica or two over the last few years, but this just might be the first available for sale. It’s a one-of-a-kind fan-made item, but you might be able to score it for a decent price. With a day left it’s still at $150.

The replica is 38-inches long and made out of PVC, aluminum (not sharpened), smooth-on urethane and faux leather.

Halo Reach will be arriving on Xbox consoles starting September 14th, and it looks like the series of action figures based on the game won’t be far behind. The series 1 set from McFarlane Toys is now available for pre-order.

Not all of the products have been officially unveiled yet, but we do have a fairly complete gallery of images after the break.

One could make a good case that the animatronic Halo Elite costume created by effects artist Pete Mander is the single most awesome cosplay creation ever put together outside of a major Hollywood studio. Read more on Fashionably Geek

I have seen toy versions of the Covenant Energy Sword from Halo 3 in the past, but sissy plastic toys are for little girls and people who can make a clear distinction between right and wrong. A replica with two spectrum treated 19-inch stainless steel blades are for real men. The kind of men that don’t think before they act and send in homemade videos to the guys from Jackass.

If you are wondering, the spectrum treatment gives the metal color-changing properties that mimic the effect seen on the blade in the game. Also comes with wall plaque. Additional image after the break.
