picnic-ants

Ants are going to invade your picnic so you may as well give them a job. These resin and metal figures are dressed for dining but will spend their time holding down objects that might otherwise blow away. They are also a quick test for how squeamish your date really is.

You don’t see many bug zappers around these days, but there was always something satisfying about the sound that it produced when frying annoying insects. The Green Talking Bug Zapper amplifies that satisfaction by adding one of 15 phrases including “that’s gonna leave a mark,” and “goodbye cruel world!” when the bugs come in contact with the grid.

Unfortunately, the audio clip available on the product website leads me to believe that this thing may actually be more annoying than the bugs themselves.

Forget all those zappers and other means to get rid of pests like Mosquitoes. Go the old fashioned route and use a small bear trap to catch them by a leg. magnificent_maggot

If you are familiar with the Doctor Shiver’s Carnival of Terror series of books, you may have come across the Magnificent Maggot before. But you may not have known that he has always longed for a career in showbiz. Flies never really get the idea. You kill one or two and leave them lined up for his friends to see, and theYwill continue to bother you. They just don’t get it. With the flip-flop fly swatter, the shoe may throw them off, but sooner or later they should come to fear it when they hear the swatter yelling “GOTCHA” after a hit. Maybe not, but then it is their own damn fault.

Bugs that fly around and bother you all night suck. No other way to say it. So why not spend a few bucks and see how well this Electronic Fly Catcher works. With a little bait at the bottom to attract the critters, once the bug wanders in to the device, it snaps shut, killing it. After killing that bug, it lets out a satisfied burp.  It is nice touches like that which reaffirm my faith in mankind.
