Well, these Marvel superheroes will erase the mistakes that are put to paper that is—which I’ll admit isn’t much these days. I suppose “all of humanity’s mistakes” was a bit of an exaggeration then. More like, “all of the mistakes you make when completing a standardized test”.

The only thing Isaiah Mustafa wants more than the fresh, clean scent of Old Spice is the role of Luke Cage. He’s met with Marvel about the role, and has said in the past that he “would do anything” to get the part.

Apparently, that included making a pitch video that can be viewed after the break (along with an amusing Marvel-produced Luke Cage / Old Spice parody involving Mustafa that turned up while searching for this video).

Director Joss Whedon tipped everyone off that shooting on The Avengers began yesterday, and Marvel is tossing in some photographic evidence to prove it. Chairs for the four main characters sit inside S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel still hasn’t revealed plot details, but they did release the following snippet:

When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster.

Loki and the Skrulls perhaps? We will know for sure by the time The Avengers hits theaters on May 4th 2012.

It appears that Marvel is taking this whole death of Spider-Man story arc in Ultimate Comics Spider-Man and Ultimate Comics Avengers vs Ultimates seriously—they’ve just revealed Peter Parker’s replacement.

“We called this story ‘Death of Spider-Man’ for a reason,” said Axel Alonso, Marvel Editor In Chief. “This is a huge story that’ll have fans around the world talking for a long time as we set the stage for the debut of our new Spider-Man.”

As you can see, the costume has changed a bit (a cooler look in our opinion), and there will be a new person wearing it come June after the culmination of the storyline in Ultimate Spider-Man #160.
