BYU student Nicholas Homer had a dream. A dream to ride around campus on a motorized couch to pick up ladies and Wendy’s burgers. He realized that dream, but BYU ripped it away from him. But that doesn’t change the fact that he has inspired slackers everywhere by building a couch you can drive. He built it, and it was good.
So today we salute you, Mr. Motorized Couch College Guy. Because sometimes it takes a lot of work to be this lazy.
We first got a peek of Hasbro’s R/C Iron Man back in February, but it’s only now that the toy has become available for pre-order. Plus, it won’t ship till August.
That’s a little late for the film in theaters, but it’s early for the DVD/Blu-ray release which appears to be going down on September 28th. Check out the toy in action after the break.
It looks like the R/C Millennium Falcon from Hasbro will launch a little earlier (and a little pricer) than expected. Starting this August, you can own the 11? x 8? Star Wars flying machine for $60. It gets about 5 minutes of flying time per charge and is specifically designed for indoor use. Pre-ordering is already underway.
Wario and Mario micro RC and pull-speed toys are finally available in the US. The Mario Kart micro RC toys measure about 2-inches long and feature banana and a red shell obstacles along with 2 spare tires.
Okay, okay…the Super R/C Airsoft tank is intended to move fast on land, transform for transport over water and shoot BBs up to 60-feet, but doesn’t it look like the world’s most awesome mobile attack cupholder?
According to the product page, “sensitive remote-controlled handling makes this droid great for flips and stunts!” It also features 18 remote-fired cannons and a clone trooper action figure.
Sounds cool, but you will have to be patient. Pre-orders are beginning now for August shipment.
Today we have the first in a series of mini reviews on prizes you can win in our Nerdy Mega Prize Pack Contest from Stupid.com. So, let’s begin by taking a closer look at the R/C Mini Car Watch.
I’m preparing to do a serious landscaping upgrade tomorrow, and I would love to have one of these RC Despe EC280MG Excavators on hand. As you will see in the video after the break (prepare to get disco funky), this 1:14.5 scale version of the actual Italian-made Despe is certainly strong enough to dig a few holes for plants. Although, at $4500 a pop (not including the 8-channel remote), I will be fine with a shovel.
Well TWO tricks if you want to get technical about it. Zibit robots can move forward and spin. Forward, spin, forward, spin…honestly I don’t know how you could possibly get tired of that. The fact that they are so small, cute and cheap will make you forget all about the fact that they are dumb. Dumb as hell.
Expect the whole line to be available sometime in March.
Hasbro continues the theme of awesome remote controlled toys with this R/C Iron Man action figure which will retail for about $50 whenever it hits the shelves. Among its many cool features are shoulder and arm projectile blasters, sound effects and the ability to walk over any smooth surface. However, there’s no flying feature, and he doesn’t have the ability to reason, so unless you want to pretend that Iron Man has severe emotional problems, there’s no need to walk him off the edge of a table.
