This Skater’s Coach was designed by Tom Demme, a baby boomer who wants to help his generation keep an active lifestyle as they move into the stage of life dominated by AARP, Hoverounds and walk-in bathtubs. It is basically a walker on wheels that you hold onto while  rollerblading, allowing you to maintain stability and increase cardiovascular fitness. It also claims to provide the same benefits as running without the high impact on back and knees, as well as greater resistance and muscle training than bike riding. At $599, it’s also a great way to drain your bank account, at least until your next Social Security payment.

In the future, the Tony Hawks of the world will be replaced by robot skateboarders that can perform tricks once thought physically impossible. This X-Skate can hit jumps and move forward, backward left and right under infrared control. Not exactly impossible, but you have to start somewhere.
