Arrow star Stephen Amell’s long-awaited appearance on American Ninja Warrior finally happened over the weekend as part of a special celebrity edition of the show for Red Nose Day. Each obstacle Amell completed was worth $5,000 for charity, and when all was said and done he earned $35,000 towards NBC’s $35 million+ tally for children in need. After years of teases, persistent fans have finally convinced Stephen Amell to take on the American Ninja Warrior course. Back in September, Amell confirmed that he wanted to be on the show in 2017, and now he’s making good on that promise. In a recent Facebook post, Amell reposted his Salt Lake City Comic-Con appearance along with a confirmation that he will be doing American Ninja Warrior on May 25th with his “Master Yoda Coach” Kacy Catanzaro. Arrow fans have been telling Stephen Amell that he should compete on American Ninja Warrior for years. Back in 2014, the show even reached out to his manager in hopes of making it happen. Amell turned that opportunity down citing a lack of time in his schedule, but it seems that Salt Lake City Comic-Con finally “pushed him over the edge”.

Over the weekend Amell wrote the following on Facebook:

Ok… It happened. The people of Salt Lake City and the great State of Utah pushed me over the edge. NBC American Ninja Warrior – in 2017, I would like to compete on your show.

I’m sure that Supergirl stuntwoman Jessie Graff’s dominance on the show has also proven to be an inspiration. A little superhero competition is hard to resist.

It’s no secret that I’ve been following the ongoing feud between Arrow’s Stephen Amell and WWE wrestler Stardust with unabashed glee. I was soooooo excited for Amell’s guest appearance at WWE Raw this past Monday.

So, how did it go?

Well, let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed. Not only did we get a little contact (beatdown) between Amell and Stardust, but Amell got WWE’s Triple H to agree to put him in a match at WWE SummerSlam on August 23.

It’s been a while since I’ve paid for a PPV event, but watching Stephen Amell and Neville take on King Barrett and Stardust may be too much awesome for me to miss.

Head after the break to see video of Amell’s first jump into the ring and his conversation with Triple H after the break.

Here’s a cool new collectible for you Arrow fans. The Arrow bookend stands approximately 9-inches tall and is made of high quality polystone, which makes him as much of a statue as a book end and, let’s be honest, is probably the closest most of us will ever come to having Amell in our homes.

Actor Stephen Amell who stars in the television show Arrow thinks Warner Bros. could have done a better job announcing the upcoming slate of DC movies. He spoke out about his feelings on the matter in an interview on AMC Movie Talk:

“I think someone like Grant Gustin, who has just launched an iconic character like Flash, to record breaking numbers … should have been given a wider berth than two episodes before another actor was announced to play his character,” Amell said. “I thought it was shitty that all of this stuff got announced the morning that the ratings — the spectacular ratings — of the second episode of the Flash came in.”

Amell admits that everyone is judging a very long term plan way before it has been realized and it remains to be seen just how well it will all come together. Still, why DC insists on separating it’s television and film projects like this is open for debate.

That celebrity social media thing where you want to engage your fans and have fun? This is how you do it. Take a lesson from Stephen Amell because he’s doing it right.

The other day, Amell posted a quick story about being delayed by security coming into LA and how the security guard explained, “I’d prefer to just tell my superiors that you’re the (expletive) Arrow, but there are procedures we need to follow.”

Today he posted this picture on his Facebook page.

I love this man.

While I appreciate Stephen Amell’s physical attributes, the thing that’s turned me into a real fan is his Facebook page. He interacts with his fans and posts some killer content.

One example is illustrated above. The other one is for Doctor Who fans and can be viewed after the break…
