This is the most adorable version of the Dynamic Duo ever. You can find them in the Kokeshi Clan store on Etsy along with plenty of other geeky dolls from Star Wars, Star Trek and more. This is the work of Craig Galentine of Temple 7e studio who creates each doll by sanding two wooden pieces and then connecting them with a wooden dowel so their heads will spin. He then hand decorates each doll with acrylic paints and signs the bottom with 7e and the year that it was constructed. They each measure around 4″ tall and would be the perfect addition to any fan’s collection.

If you read comic books, there’s been a time (or times) when you’ve pictured yourself in the story. Maybe you pretend you’re Captain America, Black Widow, Wolverine, or a new character you’ve imagined. At least, I’m guessing it isn’t just me who does this.
The Comics Factory has a team of digital artists ready to turn you into the (officially licensed) superhero you’ve always wanted to be. You can have your face blended into any of the hero costumes mentioned above, you can describe a custom character, or you can even partner up with friends for multi-hero/villain images. The finished images come in various sizes with framing options.
I think these would make a great gift for the comics fan in your life, and they’d be perfect for upcoming Mother’s and Father’s Days! Who wouldn’t want a picture of themselves as Spider-Man?

Geek themed rooms are always good things even if the room is the bathroom. After a friend expressed a desire to have a Spider-Man themed room in the house for her husband, Riley Replicas designed a faux brick wall with some of Spidey’s villains punching through. The wall ended up being put in the bathroom.
“I had a friend who wanted to decorate a room in her house for her husband who is a HUGE Spider-man fan so I made this wall panel for the room. I went with a faux brick wall theme with Spideys villains bursting through the wall! I have The Sandman, The Lizard, Doc Ock and The Green Goblin represented.
Just wanted to add pics of the wall installed in the customers….bathroom! Pretty unusual place but I think it turned out OK”
Yes, it is unusual. I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure how I’d feel about looking at Sandman’s fist while I’m taking care of business. Still, it’s following in familiar footsteps. Check out these Super Mario Bros and World of Warcraft bathrooms.

The rights to Superman were sold for a mere $130. Sure, in 1938 that was a small fortune, but still. Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel sold their rights to their creation with this piece of paper, and it was recently located. An image of the check was tweeted on October 23 and it’s possible the check comes from a Comics Connect auction tied to Siegel’s estate, but it’s not certain.
It’s a critical piece of not just comic book history but pop culture and even U.S. history. Superman is a widely beloved character, and this check helped push the superhero to what he is today. Additionally, legal battles over this check and rights time may have helped shape current U.S. copyright laws. Comic Connect presented a timeline of the check’s whereabouts, and you can view it after the break:

For some reason, artist Alexandre Nicolas has taken it upon himself to create a series of superheros, including Batman, Superman and Spider Man as costumed fetuses floating in tanks. The weirdness was recently displayed at the “HEY!” WTF is That? exhibit in Paris.
