As many fans know, Tim Burton was working as a Disney animator in the mid ’80s when he made a bizarre but lovable short film about a boy that brings his dog back from the dead. Disney execs were a little creeped out by the whole thing and ended up firing him as a result.
Needless to say, films like The Nightmare Before Christmas has changed Disney’s tune, and Burton was allowed to revisit the story for a new animated release. The images above and after the break are the first glimpses of what audiences can expect when the film is released on October 5th of 2012.

Tim Burton has created a balloon named “B-Boy” that will take to the skies during this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
The New York Times provides the backstory for the character:
According to an origin story dreamed up by Mr. Burton, B. was created, Frankenstein’s monster-style, from the leftover balloons used in children’s parties at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. Forbidden from playing with other children because of his jagged teeth and crazy-quilt stitching, B. retreated to a basement lair, where he obsesses over Albert Lamorisse’s film “The Red Balloon” and dreams that he, too, will be able to fly someday.

Images of the costume/wearable nightclub that would have been worn by Nicholas Cage in Tim Burton’s Superman Lives have leaked out before, but now you can get the full effect in the light test video after the break. Needless to say, it’s pretty insane—even by Tim Burton standards. I think most of us will agree that the decision to abandon the project was a good one.

While I may not personally be enthralled with Tiffany lamps, their price and popularity paint a whole different picture. Now you can get that style with a modern day, twisted take on it. No one would ever accuse Tim Burton of being a conformist, and they won’t think that of your Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Head Tiffany Style Lamp.
