Season Two of The Walking Dead is over and I have so many questions. What’s that big shadowy building in the distance? Will it mean they’re safe now or will it spell certain doom? Will Lori ever figure out a way to keep track of Carl? We all know the answer to that last one is probably no, but while you wonder about the rest of those questions you can act out your own version of the show with these figures. You’ll get Rick, Shane, RV Zombie, Well Zombie and Bicycle Girl Zombie. These figures aren’t out just yet, but preorder now and you’ll have all the braiiiiins you can eat this summer.

For those of us who grew up in the 90s, Chris Hardwick is always going to be that guy who hosted “Singled Out” on MTV – however, he has now landed a new gig that will help provide him with a broader association. Come October 16, Hardwick will host a new Walking Dead-focused chat show on AMC called The Talking Dead. The half hour show will kick off immediately after the Season 2 premiere of the series, and will analyze the moves of Rick Grimes and remaining survivors of the Zombie Apocalypse.

The second episode of the series will air on Friday, November 4, and Fridays at 11 following the encore presentation of The Walking Dead.

The first alien invasion story I ever saw was The War of the Worlds. Not the new one with Tom Cruise, but the original 1953 version. I couldn’t have been more than seven when I watched it on TV one sunny Saturday afternoon. Do you know why I’ve never seen the remake? Because the original scared me half to death.

There’s a scene where an alien camera-thing sort of sneaks up behind a woman. It looks like a head with three glowing eyes and it slinks down from the ceiling on a long tube of a neck. When she finally notices this monstrosity she lets out an impressive blood-curdling scream before the hero lops off the offending head with an axe. The neck then zips back up through the ceiling and into the ship hovering above them in the sky. I may have screamed.

And what do these humans do after inflicting bodily harm on the alien camera-head thingy? They grab the head to take back to their lab for study and get the heck out of Dodge because there are giant killer aliens with laser beams in the sky and all the humans have is an axe. See, smart humans. The humans in Falling Skies, however, are from the shallow end of the gene pool since rather than doing smart things, these guys excel at Stupid Human Tricks that surely have the aliens laughing as they destroy the planet. I am not generally a fan of shows that are adapted from their original UK versions into something different for US audiences. Even though I am the US audience I think that when they recreate shows over here and change bits and pieces so we “get it” they often end up destroying the show. “The Office” made the move just fine, but “Coupling”, one of my all-time favorite shows, was completely ruined once it crossed the ocean. I watched the first two seasons of the original UK Being Human and can’t wait to start watching season three, so when I saw they were bringing it to the US I was more than a little nervous. It was like that feeling you get at the top of the roller coaster when you see just how big the drop is going to be and realize there is no turning back, you just have to hold on and hope for the best.

It isn’t the best image in the world, but this pic snatched from the London Toy Fair is first look the world has seen of the upcoming Thundercats reboot set to premiere on Cartoon Network sometime later this year.

Have you ever watched a preview and gotten really excited about it in the first few seconds only to find yourself cringing by the end? That was my reaction when I saw previews for The Cape. As a superhero show it immediately got my attention with scenes of our brooding hero struggling to accept his new life yet unable to say good-bye to the old. So far, so good, but something felt a bit off. I couldn’t quite figure out what tone they were going for and this made me nervous. But, it’s not as though there are a lot of choices out there within the comic book genre, so I figured despite the questionable previews I’d watch the premier and reserve judgement. Now that I have, let’s just say, I still have a few concerns.

Back in June we learned that Cartoon Network was bringing ThunderCats back to TV, but since then things have been pretty quiet. However, MTV’s Splash Page got some details straight from producer Michael Jelenic about what fans can expect from a “reimagining” of the franchise:
