Apparently, the work above was part of a “tryout page” from an artist trying to break into the comics biz way back in the ’90s—preseerved for posterity by the Marvel Bullpen’s Steve Bunche and Darren Auck. The work was never printed of course—presumably because the earth shattering awesomeness would have set the bar far too high for all Wolverine books to follow.

The original artist is unknown, so we are left to wonder what he had in mind for this meeting. My guess is that that a battle ensued, but the otherworldly power of Freddie’s voice rocked and pulverized Wolverine’s supposedly “unbreakable” adamantium bones.

Hey, he’s closer to Wolverine’s actual height than Hugh Jackman. Sadly, this print by Brandon Bird is probably as close as we will ever come.

Bruce Lee as Spider-Man; it seems like a natural combination. Designer Alex Tuis has chosen a handful of acting legends to portray Marvel superheroes, and he’s chosen wisely. It’s just a fun side project for an artist who contributes concept art to films, but it’s obvious a lot of time was put into this art.

See Harvey Keitel as Wolverine and more actors as superheroes after the break.

Batman Deliverance doesn’t involve banjos or hicks, but it is a polished fan film featuring an aged, alcoholic Batman taking on Wolverine.

It’s also very, very French—subtitled in English.
