General Tech News:

Apple Delays Leopard Release Until October: Apple has decided to focus their efforts on releasing the iPhone in June at the expense of the new Leopard OS X. Some analysts believe that “top secret features” are the real reason behind the delay. However, keep in mind that these analysts usually don’t know shit.

Apple Sells 100 Millionth iPod: The iPod is officially the fastest selling music player in history.

Vonage Loses CEO, Plans To Restructure: CEO Michael Snyder announced his resignation from Vonage in the midst of a patent infringement case with Verizon that threatens to shut the company down.

Geek Squad Guy Caught Playing Peep Squad: Geek Squad tech caught filming female customer in the shower.

1-800-GOOG-411 Brings Google Search To Voice Calls: Google has lauched “Google Local Search” - a free 411 service that allows users to obtain information on local businesses. Customers must interact with an automated system, there are no live operators.

Zune 2.0 and Flash Zune Details Leaked: Rumor has it that Zune 2.0 and a smaller flash based Zune will be sold later this year.

Software:

Download: Opera 9.2: Opera has released their latest browser. The new Speed Dial function makes surfing your favorite websites easier.

Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta Starts On May 16th: Beta will go live starting at 12:00 am PDT and run through June 6th at 11:59 pm PDT. By the way, Bungie has confirmed that the mysterious X Button will be used to deploy equipment.

Microsoft Unveils New QWERTY Controller: New QWERTY controller attachment makes using the upcoming IM features quick and easy.

Sony Discontinues 20GB PS3: Sony has officially discontinued the 20GB PS3 in North America. Sony will be monitoring demand for the 20GB in Europe, but I expect that it will be completely phased out before long.
