In order to celebrate the launch of Ford’s latest Explorer, 22 master builders in Connecticut pooled their talents to create a life-sized model of the SUV out of LEGO. The project required about 380,000 bricks, and took some 2,500 hours to complete. The model is supported by a huge aluminum base and weighs about 2,600 pounds, about half as much as the actual car.
The LEGO Explorer will be on display at Legoland’s new 150-acre theme park in Orlando, Florida, which opens on October 15.
