‘Star Wars’ Fans Build And Fly A 15-Foot Star Destroyer [Video]


Using a simple design that included insulating foam panels, Gorilla Glue, packing tape, and a can of Rustoleum, Peter Sripol and his buds created a 15-foot RC Star Destroyer to celebrate the release of The Force Awakens.

The craft was powered by three motor-driven propellers while a pair of servos were used to operate elevons (combo aileron and elevator) at the rear. For its initial flight test, it was launched from a flatbed truck and managed to perform a wobbly, barely controlled flight that lasted until parts started flying off and gravity did what gravity does.
