Lego’s Minifigs were first introduced back in 1978, and since then… well, the total population of these little figurines has exploded. In fact, if Lego keeps producing their minifigs at the current rate, they will outnumber human beings by 2019 (as cleverly illustrated by one of my favorite webcomics, XKCD).
Back in 2006, there were 4 billion little plastic Lego-people, so can you just imagine how many there’ll be by 2019? I think we better keep an eye out on these figurines–got to make sure they don’t pull a Planet of the Apes and try to overthrow us. Damn, dirty Lego!
