The Power Up Box Is Off To A Good Start [Review]

You’re probably already familiar with the Loot Crate and Nerd Block subscription box services, but a new challenger has entered the ring. The folks at Power Up Box sent us their first Premium box for review, and I have to say that we were pleased with what was inside.

Take a look for yourself after the break…

Funko Fabrikations Harley Quinn Plush! Nice – this is worth $15 by itself on Amazon.

I’m a bit over the whole “Keep Calm” thing, but this Batman shirt seems fairly well made. Probably something my wife will wear to bed.

More Funko stuff in the form of a Series 3 Walking Dead Mystery Mini ($7.38 on Amazon) and a Pocket Pop TMNT keychain ($6.20 on Amazon).

A Spider-Gwen comic ($3.99) and Spider-Man lollipop rings (Around $1.67 per bag on Amazon)

Impressions:

When all is said and done, I suspect that there’s around $50 worth of stuff in this Premium Power Up box. Not bad for a subscription that costs $29.95 plus $9.95 shipping. Plus, there wasn’t anything in the box that we would consider a dud.

Offerings are two-tiered: A Deluxe Box with 4-6 items ($19.95 plus $6.95 shipping) and a Premium Box with 6-9 items ($29.95 plus $9.95 shipping).

So, it seems that the Power Up box differentiates itself from services like Loot Crate and Nerd Block in terms of the quantity/quality of items in your box. We assume that the Fabrikations plush is indicative of a premium item.

If you would like to try out Power Up Box for yourself, you can save 10% off the first month of your subscription using the code “NerdApproved” at checkout.
