We’re getting our first real look at some of the new toys coming for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in a rather interesting way; fan-made animated shorts. The first video alone made me wish for a stop-motion Star Wars movie and there are more to come.
“These fan-created shorts are a tribute to the incredible content that the Star Wars community posts online every day,” said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “The Go Rogue campaign was designed with Star Wars fans in mind – we want them to be front and center in the run up to ‘Rogue One’ by imagining and creating their own Rogue Stories.”
Starting September 30th, the Star Wars YouTube channel and creative network Tongal are launching a global competition invites fans to create and share their own “Rogue Stories”. You can find out more about the contest here. Kids 8 – 12 are invited to enter their own contest.
While most of the toys will be hitting stores on September 30th, a select number of items will be available for order on September 2, so keep an eye out. For now, just enjoy looking at some of the toys and the first fan-made video below.
