The February 2015 “Play” box from Loot Crate arrived on our doorstep yesterday and we couldn’t wait to find out what was inside. If you can’t either, continue on past the break…
I’ve already had the pleasure of reading Ready Player One (we even interviewed author Ernie Cline a few years ago) but I’m thinking I’ll have to read through again after finding the paperback version in my Loot Crate box. If you haven’t read it, you’re in for a real treat.
We heard previously that the Play box would include an exclusive version of the Superfight card game and we were not disappointed. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a hilarious game based on imaginary fights between characters with superpowers and super problems. I’m definitely going to have a lot of fun with this.
Munny vinyl toys are a blank canvas that you can customize however you please. This will be going on my desk once I’ve turned it into a really odd version of the tenth Doctor or something.
Can’t go wrong with a little robot toy. I’m curious to know how my dog will react to the HexBug Ant scurrying across the floor.
We also heard that the Play box would include an exclusive code for the upcoming game Firefly Online. The Callahan assault rifle is pictured on the front of the card, but the code is actually for the Overland ship.
Loot Crate likes to use the shipping boxes in creative ways, and this month they were particularly ambitious. They’ve created their own board game complete with dice.
This box was a winner. I would have been completely over the moon about it had I not already read Ready Player One, but since I loved the book and don’t have a physical copy, I’m still pretty excited. Overall, I’ll get a lot of use out of everything in the box—especially Superfight. A boozy game night is already being planned.
