In a press event in NYC on Thursday, Motorola showed off its “Home Media DVR” - and the results seem quite impressive.
Basically, the Home Media DVR eliminates the need for multiple set-top-boxes by creating a singular DVR hub that can be accessed from any television in your home. Users in different rooms can watch, record, and delete programs independently.
Motorola also noted that the box could be accessed by cell phones like the Motorola RAZR or the Q - which means that the device could be controlled remotely.
At this point, no pricing information, release date, or participating cable service providers have been announced.
