The Real Twilight Sparkle Talks With a Disabled Brony And Makes His Day

Every pony get your tissues ready. Tara Strong, voice of MLP: Friendship is Magic’s Twilight Sparkle and about a bajillion other things, had to cancel an appearance at the Knoxville Comic and Anime show at the last minute. Her fans were understandably disappointed, none more a mentally disabled boy named Dragon and his mother who commented on the event Facebook page:

“Thanks for posting. Just wish she’d cancelled before I paid for the vip pass. Now I have to figure out how to tell my disabled son he won’t be meeting Twilight. :(“

Strong happened to catch the comment and contacted Rebecca Andrews to set up a phone call with her son right away. Fifteen-year-old Dragon Andrews was beside himself. Strong talked to him for 20 minutes and and performed every voice Andrews requested. Additionally, his mother reported that Strong talked to him about how to deal will bullies at school (they pick on him because he likes My Little Pony) and offered encouragement. She also shared some highlights of the conversation.

Tara: Is this Dragon?
Dragon: …yes.
Tara: Do you know who this is?
Dragon: Yes, it’s Twilight Sparkle.

Dragon: Tara, you are so talented with all those voices you do.
Tara: Yes, yes I am, aren’t I?

Tara: (in Twilight’s voice) I love you, Dragon.
Dragon: (stunned, muttering) …love you, too, Twilight.

Tara: Dear Princess Celestia, today I got to talk to an awesome person named Dragon.
Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.
