Review: Denon AH-D310R Mobile Elite Headphones

I don’t claim to be the world’s biggest audiophile—basic earbuds are just fine by me. However, even I was able to appreciate the sound quality and comfort of the Denon AH-D310R Mobile Elite headphones.

Features:

Impedance: 32ohms
Sensitivity: 105dB/mW
Max Input: 1000mW
Frequency Repsonse: 1–22000Hz
Apple-compatible 3 Button Remote With Mic (select devices)

In a nutshell, the Denon AH-D310Rs are comfortable over-ear headphones that provide great isolation and sound quality. Plus, the on-cord three button remote worked flawlessly with my iPhone 4 in controlling both music and phone calls.

Music, movies and games sound fantastic on these Denons while the audio quality on my end of phone calls was nice and clear (albeit a bit “unnatural” sounding). The people on the other end of the line all agreed that I sounded good, so the mic definitely does its job well.

The only real gripe I have with these headphones lies with the build quality. Again, it’s very comfortable to wear and it is also very light, but it has that crappy plasticky feel you often find in much cheaper products.

Overall, if you are looking for something that’s a step up from basic models but you aren’t ready to spend hundreds of dollars on a set of headphones for audio freaks, the Denon AH-D310R’s should fit the bill nicely for your $70.
