Sources at computer and notebook component producers in Taiwan have indicated that Apple will launch the Intel 64-bit Merom CPU version of the MacBook this September.
However, this information has not yet been confirmed.
Apparently, sales have been strong for both the MacBook and the MacBook Pro despite the seasonal downturn – so companies like Asustek and Quanta stand to gain quite a bit from the updated MacBook line.
If you are one of the throngs of people who picked up an Intel Core Duo version of the MacBook when it was unveiled in May – don’t worry too much about it. It seems that everything from Apple is obsolete within months of it’s release.
