CES 2007: Linksys-NAS, Gaming Router and Print Server

Linksys Trio

Linksys announced three new products at the Pepcom event tonight.

Their appropriately monikored NAS200 has space for two 3.5″ SATA HDD’s. It supports RAID level 0 and 1 across the two drives, depending on your desire for speed or safe data storage, respectively. One feature that is a bit out of the norm is the ability of the unit to initiate a download, and if the unit is powered down it will continue the transfer until it is complete. It also supports scheduled or one touch backups. Available Q1 07 for $180.

The next product is the WRT330N Gaming Router. It is a draft 802.11n wireless device that can prioritize gaming packets and has 4 gigabit ethernet ports. The router has the usual amenities: WPA2, WPA and WEP security, DHCP server capability and VPN pass through. It supports multiple devices, such as your gaming PC and gaming consoles themselves. If nothing else it has a cool design. Price will be about $200.

Their WPSM54G print server has added the ability to support today’s multifunction printers. While a print server is useful for offloading some work from your PC, be sure the printer you have/want is listed as a supported model. Available now for $120.
