If this isn’t a sign that the PS3 is in trouble I don’t know what is.
Gamestop and EB Games are both offering $100 off the purchase of a PS3 when you trade in your PS2 in an attempt to move unsold units. It sounds like a pretty good deal, but if you plan on playing your PS2 games on the new console, keep in mind that there are some problems with the backwards compatibility.
I would imagine that other retailers are going to begin to offer deals to move PS3s as well because profit margins are low and inventory is not selling through.
