Is your new XBox 360 overheating? Do you have the guts to tear into a $400 console?
If so, you may want to check out HardOCP’s step by step guide to intalling a custom XBox 360 watercooling unit.
HardOCP’s goals for the build were as follows:
1. To achieve better overall cooling for the Xbox.
2. Make a unit that can be replicated with fairly common components, without spending a fortune.
3. Clean, professional installation. No ghetto installation, no use of epoxy to attach a crappy homemade water block, and no zip ties or wire and bubblegum tricks.
4. Leave the Xbox without any permanent alterations so that it may be easily returned to its original condition.
By the looks of things it seems that they were able to achive these objectives.
On the other hand, if you are patient enough, CoolIT is expected to release a commercial 360 cooling unit sometime in the near future.
