HP has announced two models of their Mediasmart LCD 1080p HDTV, in 42″ and 47″ sizes. These sets have a built in media extender allowing you to show your videos, audio and pictures from network connected PC’s. Even if you choose to forgo the media extender, the unit can still use the HP Media Portal to connect to services like Snapfish and Real Rhapsody.
Getting down the the specs, you have: 1200:1 contrast ratio, 8 (42″)/6 (47″) ms response time, 3 HDMI ports, ethernet and 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity.
My guess is that this built in networking capability will be seen more and more in the very near future.
