The Apple Store Fith Avenue is set to open on Friday May 19th right in the heart of one of the world’s most popular shopping destinations.
The site represents Apple’s most architecturally innovative store, with a 32 foot glass cube as its centerpiece.
The store, located at 767 Fifth Avenue between 58th and 59th Streets, will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days of week – just in case you are inclined to shop for a Mac at 3 a.m. on a Sunday night.
From the official press release:
“The new store offers more than 100 Macs and nearly 200 iPods for customers to try before they buy, as well as the world’s largest assortment of accessories to help you get the most out of your Mac(R) or iPod(R). The Apple Store Fifth Avenue also has the largest staff of any Apple Store, with nearly 300 highly trained Mac Specialists, Mac Geniuses and Creatives who offer free tips and tricks on photography, movies and music to make creative projects come to life at The Studio. The new store will feature a combined 45-foot Genius Bar, iPod Bar and The Studio where customers can get face-to-face support, free advice and work on creative projects at any hour of the day or night.”
Thirty-four more Apple stores are set to open this year alone (mostly in the U.S.) Apple’s retail division generated more than one billion dollars in revenue during the 2005 holiday season – which makes it easy to see why Apple is thinking expansion.
