“Geekery” Becomes An Official Word In The Oxford English Dictionary

A word isn’t really a word until it appears in the dictionary, and thanks to the Oxford English Dictionary, “geekery” is now official. They recently decided to add “geekery”, “tweet”, “e-reader” and “dad dancing”. Tweet actually breaks the dictionary rules since they usually require ten years of use to be considered. I guess they don’t see twitter disappearing anytime soon. Still, geekery seems to be the biggest of the bunch in terms of what it means to the world of geekdom. Wait, is “geekdom” a word because when that’s in the dictionary we’ll know we have truly arrived.
